"Isaac Lowry Dec'd Will

I Isaac Lowry being of sound and perfect mind and memory do make and publish this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following

First I give and bequeath to my beloved wife Jane Lowry during her widowhood or her natural life all my personal property horses cattle hogs sheep farming utensils household and kitchen furniture leaving it optional with her and the heirs to make such disposition of it as they may think best to pay what debts I owe and further it is my Will that my wife Jane Lowry have possession of all of my land during her widowhood or her natural life or until the youngest child becomes of age and that the boys tend the land and keep the fences and buildings in repair by giving her a sufficiency of the products of the farm to subsist on decently and raise and school the children, and when the youngest child comes of age it is my Will that the land be equally divided between my Sons James H. Thomas J. Daniel A. John W. William D. David H. Samuel N. and Isaac A. Lowry and if my wife should live till the youngest child comes of age I reserve one third of the land at that time for her and then that third to be equally divided between my sons above named and if my sons cannot agree about the division of the land then it is to be divided by disinterested persons chosen for that purpose and if either of my sons should make any improvements on any part of the land that would add value to it and at the division of the land should get that part of the land on which the improvement is made, then the one that gets the improvement to pay him what would be a reasonable compensation for it, if not agreed upon by them, to be left to disinterested persons chosen for that purpose and whereas I consider my land worth two thousand four hundred dollars it is my will that each of my daughters Mary J. Nancy A. Elizabeth M. Fanny L. Martha M. and Eleanor M. Lowry each have the sum of one hundred and seventy five dollars as their proportionable [sic] part of the land to be paid to them by my above mentioned sons each paying an equal part to be paid after the youngest child Heir comes of age and further it is my will that all my personal property be equally divided between my sons and daughters after my wife's death or the end of her widowhood and whereas my four oldest sons have each recd [sic] a horse saddle and bridle worth one hundred dollars each it is my will that the others girls and all of the minor heirs be made equal out of the estat [sic] before divided as above stated as they come of age, and lastly I nominate and appoint James Lowry Junr [sic] and James Forest Executors of this my last Will and Testament  In witness thereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal, this 3rd day of October in the Year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and Forty.  Signed sealed published and declared by the above named Isaac Lowry to be his last Will and Testament in the presence of us who have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses in the presence of the Testator.
