Have you ever wondered how you could join one of our nation's patriotic organizations and help to perpetuate the memory and spirit of the men and women who achieved American Independence?

There is a national organization for women, Daughters of the American Revolution, one for men, Sons of the American Revolution, and one for children, Children of the American Revolution.  These national societies were founded in the late 1800s.  Some of the Lowrys in our website directory are members.  If you are a Lowry in the lineage of this directory (regardless of your surname), then you do qualify to join.  Learn more about the societies and what they do.

McMinn County, Tennessee is a location that was important to many of our Lowry ancestors.  James Lowry settled there in the early 1800s.  He and his sons had large farms there.  Many of his grandchildren were born in McMinn County.  And McMinn cemeteries are where you can find many of their memorials.  Periodically there are reunions of the greater Lowry clan held near Athens.  The McMinn County Genealogy site is a site worth visiting.

Additionally, for vacation planning the Tennessee Overhill site provides information on whitewater rafting on the Ocoee & Hiwassee Rivers; outdoor adventure, scenic drives through the Cherokee National Forest; heritage trails, art & antiques, historic places, and so much more!
